Performance Solutions International was formed to provide direction, encouragement and support for businesses and individuals. It is committed to growing people and performance through coaching, training and Human Resources support, providing results that make a difference.
Sue Bottema is the principal provider of services but aligns with other Human Resources, training and coaching specialists to provide the best possible solutions and results for her customers. With 20 years of human resources management and training in her background, Sue Bottema brings international experience and a positive, practical style. Her people skills and ability to relate and influence employees at all levels has earned her reputation for a friendly professional who makes a difference.
Industry experience includes insurance, IT, telecommunications, airlines, shipping, retail, hospitality and a variety of other businesses in the last 9 years of providing consulting support and training. Strengths have been bringing out the best in a company’s human resources with coaching, counselling, and an array of customised training programs that deliver results. Creating and initiating simple, effective human resources functions for both small and larger businesses is also a strength.
Sue is a qualified trainer and can deliver Brian Tracy’s High Performance Leadership, Maximum Achievement, and Achieving Personal and Corporate Excellence, Dr. Ian Brooks’ Second to None program, Michele Comeau’s Telephone Skills that Increase Profits, and Ben Renshaw’s coaching programs. She has conducted Train the Trainer (Hospitality Standards Institute), the Front-Line Leadership Series (Zenger-Miller International—a program delivered to many of the US Fortune 500 companies), Training in Guest/Employee Relations (Victoria International), and was the National Trainer and program developer for KiwiHost Limited for its relaunch in 1998.
As part of the consultation and training process, Performance Solutions has also been appointed as an official “Mystery Shopper” for several different clients, both in hospitality and other service organisations assessing levels of service and quality of product.
Training programs developed and conducted include front-line, management skills, leadership, and train the trainer sessions. Courseware developed for other trainers in customer service, team building, and front-line selling skills as well as her own programs in customer service, training trainers (Powerful Presentations), and management development (recruitment, coaching and counselling, performance management, managing change, and others).
Performance Solutions Human Resources support covers a wide range of the function--employment law, industrial relations, employment contracts, and developing policies and procedures. Employee relations skills have facilitated positive problem-solving among managers and staff and resolving grievances in the workplace before they are escalated to legal interventions. With sole responsibility for implementing national HR policy and procedures in her two previous roles, Sue was able to help create caring cultures aligned with the priorities of cost effectiveness, adding value, and customer focus.
In the area of coaching, Performance Solutions supports businesses in their human resources opportunities and has trained managers in using a coaching approach in their performance management of teams. She helps individual clients look at their life and/or career as it exists today and provides direction to determine a way forward to incorporate the priorities and passion areas that create the future career path or lifestyle desired. Guidance, accountability, support, and celebration of results are all significant components of the outcome-focused process. Coaching may occur face-to-face, on the phone, via email or a combination of these.

Happily married with three
children, Sue combines the dual career of wife/mother with operating
Performance Solutions sharing her specialist skills. Sue develops long-term
